...no, not bags to store hoovers in :)  those see-through bags you can put clothes, pillows, duvets etc in then use a vacuum to suck out all the air so they shrink down to about a third of the size.  Just wondering if anyone has used them ?
I've heard varying reports  - some makes are apparently easier to use and some types work better than others.
Just thought they would be useful for packing bedding/towels etc to take on holiday.

I bought mine from Argos - do just what they promise, they're great. :D

Good if they work.  I bought some from Argos a few years ago to store spare duvets and towels.  After putting items in bags you suck the air out with a vacuum cleaner and the amount of space saved is amazing.  Unfortunately I found that air crept back in and the vacuum effect didn't last.  I don't know if there are more effective ones these days

Yes, Cheryl - I read that, with some, the air creeps back in. Perhaps it was a design fault in the seal.

Being a complete cheap skate. I've just done the same with good quality bin liners then elastic band on the end. Work just as well. As long as you don't rip the bags that is.

I store all my caravan bedding in them and they are very good, I buy mine from Matalan, £7.99 for 3, 1 med, 1 large and 1 jumbo size, the largest size can take 2 double duvets and 1 single duvets plus pillows. good invention, but remember not to tear them or they are no use, I could not think how some of my bags were getting small holes in them and discovered it was the fitting on the base of my wardrobe door that was  doing this as I pulled out the bags.  Doh!!!!!!

Ive always wondered if the items inside are creased really badly when you re open the bags for use?

I put a couple of rugs I had kept from when I had my horse in one and was well impressed with how little space it took up when I'd finished...only to discover when I tried to get them out of the gap I'd just about fit in it that the bag had split somewhere and rugs had returned to normal size

Took a bit of gentle persuasion to remove it :D

I have used those and also bin liners (same effect) to store winter coats, etc, and have not noticed lots of wrinkles or anthing. :)
