After living in this house for 12 years with my dogs i had a visit last night (Yes a Sunday night) from the council to say i had had a complaint against me for the dogs barking non stop all day 7 day's a week. which i did have 1 word for "rubbish".
I do not leave my dogs for long periods of time when i work the dogs get dropped of at the pet sitter that i have, they are guilty of having a bark when a stranger comes to the door but is that not one the reasons to have a dog.
I must admit that the two men did smile when i showed them the so called noise makers 1 of which went to sleep at their feet and was told by the 2 men that they would not be taking any action they had to inform me that their was a complaint.
We told them that we knew who had made the complaint but they informed us that they could not say but is it too much of a coincidence that last weekend while my neigbours where away for the weekend we had to ask the teenagers of the household to turn down the music  and were told by the parents that they would get us back.
now this is the same person who victimized another neighbour wanting her kennels and runs taking away.
so much for being lost for words thats me had my moan.

Sounds like the Council has accepted the complaint for what it is - petty retaliation.  Hope that's an end of it for you.

People are silly aren't they after all if your neighbours really do have a problem with anyone in the future, the Council are less likely to take them seriously over anyone else.

We've had this for years -next door making complaints and outright lies. In the end we had enough and decided to move (very soon now, we're leaving in about 3 weeks). After 6 complaints though the council said they had to stop making complaints unless they had real proof of our dogs barking too much, and proof would only be in the form of listening equipment installed to record our dogs barking. The first 5 times when asked by the council the neighbours had refused to have this done, wonder why......... Anyway once they did listen and record, of course they found there was no complaint at all as our dogs did not bark excessively at all.

Some people.
