After reading through with interest the Best in Show winners over the Crufts history. I just wandered if anyone knew why it was cancelled in 1954. I can understand why in the war years. Just wandered if there was an interesting reason behind it or not?

Googling tells me it was cancelled due to an 'electrical conflict' - whatever that may have been! I'll keep looking ...

Definitely cancelled due to a strike by electricians. I don't know whether or not the strike was national or regional, or merely a dispute with the KC or the owners of Olympia.

There was also no show in 1949 because the date of the show moved from October to February. :)
