my girl is due in around 9 days, she is very big all of a sudden, milk has been coming out of her teats for nearly a week now, she has been eating very well until today she is off her food and also she is digging holes underneath one of my trees in the garden, she isnt stressed but she is standing up a lot. Is she just getting prepared or could she be going early
Thanks
darzee
she will need to go out to the toilet allot if she is due, maybe find your torch just make sure when she does go it isnt a baby one!! if not for tonight for later this week, sound as if she's close.

so will things be ok if she is 9 days early

Some bitches do start to nest early, and certainly mine worked hard on a big hole in the garden for about a week until it was big enough for her to fit into!

It's possible for pups to be born safely after 58-59 days so from then on you best be prepared. Once they do start in labour though, the first panting, pacing and digging stage can last as long as 48 hours.

The problem is i only seen them tie the once, i didnt think she was in season, but obviosly she was, i only had her a week when they tied she is 4rys, the possibility of them mating earlier seems to be quite high

Oh dear. The joys of keeping unneutered dogs and bitches together! :(

i wanted to have a litter of pups from these two dogs so there wouldnt have been any point in neutering them at that time

Having just updated myself with the previous thread about this situation I'm making no comments.
