Topic Dog Boards / Health / Glomerulonephritis - need advise!!
- By Boxermad [gb] Date 20.03.06 14:22 UTC
Hi!
New to the boards, but really need some advise.  I have a boxer bitch 21mths and she has recently been diagnosed with Glomerulonephritis

In herself she is fine, not suffering any of the "ailments" she should!! We have only found out, through a blood test for something else.  Where her bun and creatin levels came back too high and after LOTS of tests and 2 different vets having a go, this is what has come back!
If you saw her you would think she was fine.  Shiny coat, wet nose, full of energy etc....so I have 2 questions??
1.  In what way do you think this will effect her?? And her lifespan?? (She has just started taking meds for the condition).
2.  I have been told to feed her on a renal diet and have been buying Renal food, Royal Canin.....which I can only get from my vets.  Can anyone tell me where I can get it from in bulk.  Or if there was a better food to buy???

Any advise appreciated!!
Many thanks

www.hyperdrug.com I buy renal for my cat so presume you can get it for the dog ...it is only cheaper if you buy in bulk as the P&P is hefty! :)
