Oh dear. just realised my bitches eye certs will become out of date when litter 4 weeks old. What should I do? will i have to take her for another test just before pups go do you think? I'm really stupid aren't I? You see she was mated as well last year without luck, so her eyes were done just before that. I misread a 4 for 5 on the date. Trust me!

I did this last year too, so I took her and had them re-done at 5 weeks into her pregnancy.  Luckily all was fine! 

But i can't take her now. It's about 60 miles away and she's only got 2 weeks to go. would it be ok to get them done later, after pups born and before they go?

Yes I would say that will be fine.  As long as you have a certificate to show the purchasers, the more recent the better in fact :)

Oh goodness you make me feel so much better! How can i be so stupid! I'm so looking forward to this litter too. She had 14 last time you know.

yes exactly. It was a bit of a nightmare. Her first litter poor thing. Nearly finished us all off. I had a couple of strange dreams where I miscalculated and ended up one pup short.. or the wrong sex when last new owner arrived!!! Maths never was my strong point anyway.

Our breed club sdtates that we should have current clear eye certificates at the time of mating ;) If you mated your bitch before she was due a test then you should be ok, but I would still want to get her checked out, just to show the would be owners that you care enough to get it done :)

If the bitches test certificate was done less than a year before MATING then it is current, so no worries, and you can get ehr a new one if it makes you fel better just before pups are ready to go.
