Well to me anyway! I have been doing some raw feeding (mental note, not too much tripe even if the freezer has been left open and everything is deforsting) and have had to order the BARF books online as none of my shops have it. My bil is a butcher so I can get some nice stuff at a reduced price but what I have noticed is Saffy (2 year lab) has suddenly got.............longer. Which looks odd to me. Has she had a sudden growth spurt? Is this normal? Poor thing hada runny bum today but that was probably too much tripe last night, so until I get these books I'm kind of guessing!
Saffy has always had problems with her tum and has never really grown properly so this sudden spurt has worried me a bit.
Anyone else noticed this?

Karen - it may not be that she has got "longer" - just "leaner" :D :D
If you haven't notice a squitty tummy since you've changed her feeding habits, it is quite possible that she has just lost a little weight, and now appears sleeker and therefore longer - which cannot be bad for a lab!

You're probably right..........never thought of that although I don't think she should lose any more weight. I could actually see her ribs under her coat today. Wish Nutmeg would lose some! I think she must have a secret doggy stash some where..

Anything by Ian Billinghurst is worth a read re. BARF feeding.

Hi Karen
Is Nutmeg a chocolate by any chance

:)
Just cut her intake of food and she will loose weight

feed her carrots and apples as a substitute to treats :)
