My Yorkie male has started licking my younger female dog in the mouth, she holds her tongue out while he licks all inside her mouth.  Can anyone explain this?

My two went through a phase of this a while ago with my older male giving the female pup's mouth, teeth and back of throat a thorough licking several times a day. I just distracted them when it started and it stopped altogether after a week or two.

I have just done a search and found your original post.  Hes not done it today so hopefully he is bored with it already.

Mine preen each other daily and its never appeared to be a 'top dog' thing one of them falls asleep everynight doing it and they alternate.

My JRT does it to my Rottie x gsd he has never grown bored of it and i presume he is getting any stuck food from her teeth LOL

i thought this was a friendly gesture, "I want to be your friend" type thing, mine does it to confident dogs and little dogs do it to mine, any other ideas?

My girls do it to each other, but not to other dogs.
we just presume they're kissing each other in a sisterly way.
They seem happy enough!

My two do this also, don't wolf pups do this to encourage their mums to regurgitate food. I thought it was also to 'making up' thing as my boy only deos it to appease her when he has got too giddy.

yes it is done to regurgitate food pups do it to their mums.

My young bitch does it to my boy when they've recently eaten - he'd prefer her not to, but is too well mannered to do anything except turn his head away and give me pleading looks!

ha ha ha i thought it was just my dog that did this ! its good to know that is isnt, my chihuahua does it to both of my bullmastiffs, its disgusting then she wants to come and kiss me. urrrrr
i sometimes tell her off when i can see one of the dogs getting a bit fed up and looking at me to help, but i think they have just got used to her now, disgusting things lol.

My little one , 11months old always licks my other 3 on the mouth whenever they come near me on the sofa . I am sure she is kissing them so they dont need kisses from me as she wants to keep me all to herself ! .
