I wanted to treat my dog to a 'real' spit and polish, and called several of the parlous in my area.  All but one had gone out of business.  The one I did get in touch with, admitted that her competitors had a problem with licensing and were closing down.  She gave me an appointment for April 28th.  I almost laughed.  I think I will be able to clean my dog before then.. I hope.  I searched within a 30 minute drive for me, but it had me wondering if there is new legislation when it comes to these parlours, or are there any larger chain parlours that take walk-ins. (I can't always guarantee i will be able to treat my dog weeks in advance).

ive never herd of a grooming parlor licensing there should be something tho if they have brought some thing new in i would love to know
its bad as any one can open a parlor some dont even bother to do the correct training and qualifications!

I know Barton-in-the Beans.I used the pet shop at Earl Shilton,think I got in quite quickly.There is one at Newbold Verdon too,and also the mobile grooming parlour that visits.HTH

You wont believe this, but the mobile one has been the hardest to reach... i simply can not write down the number fast enough when he drives by and he's not in the directory. lol

Hi I live in Nuneaton and there are quite a few grooming parlours around. I have used one called Dappers (only once my yorkie is going for her 2nd time tomorrow). There are a few others .
