Can anyone help me....

At present i am looking into, or should i say interested in importing a dog from Canada sometime in the near future...do any of u knowledgable doggie folk out there know what the quarantine laws are...im asking this, because sometime back i remember seeing an animal programme, and im sure they mentioned that animals coming from Canada, because of their strict laws do not need to go into quarantine over here..If anyone can confirm this or if anyone knows the exact details i would be very grateful of any feedback.

Dogs can come into the UK from Canada without quarantine via the Pet Passport scheme. It would, of course, be a minimum of 10 months of age when it arrived.

Thank you JG... i did think that was the way i would have to go about it..and yes the dog would be over 10mths old..once again many thanks

When JG puts 10 months this doesn't mean that it can come over at that age, but it takes at least 7 months for everything to make the Pet Passport viable for a dog to be imported over here.

Yes, I should have made it clear that it takes 7 months from the start of the Pet Passport procedure (and a puppy has to be at least 3 months [not 12 weeks] old before it can be started) to being able to bring a dog into the country.
