Can anyone recommend a good dog whistle? I have gone through 3, the third not even lasting to the end of the walk:mad:! It's the PAH variety which screws together so that you can change the pitch. The only problem with it is that because I have it on my keyring, the whole thing unscrews itself in my pocket, in the car, in the street, etc. and falls apart - and I normally don't hear it fall! Its driving me potty:mad: I refuse to keep going back to PAH and keep buying the blessed things. PAH make enough money out of me as it is! Rant over .... ! Any good online sites??? I know you lot won't let me down
Thanks,
Karen

Got ours from a gun shop.  Can select different pitch whistles and ours cost about £3.  Not looked but must be plenty of gundog supply sites.

BTW I don't use one myself but OH was embarrassed when I took the mick out of his attempt to pucker up and whistle :D  Now he has better control because of the constant pitch and distance the sound travels

Thanks for that - I just hate shouting (Goodness knows why, I get enought practise with my two daughters), I do find that the whistle is much more effective, particularly on a windy day when your voice just carries in the opposite direction! (or perhaps Rosie is just cocking a deafie!!). I'll have to see if I can find our local gun shop.

Cheryl, Well, what a treasure you are! I've discovered my nearest gun shop is actually quite nearby! It might be good to talk to them about the virtues of one type of whistle over another as I know naaaathing! Thanks, Karen
