What did everyone think the judging in their breeds?? I find the judging can be a bit 'strange'.

I was there on Thursday for the st bernards, she probably did pick the best dog and bitch.
But the judging in some of the classes was all over the place.I heard plenty of people saying this, so it's not just my opinion.

I didn't enter any of my breed this year because the judge didn't suit. And apparently I wasn't the only one...
no entries in Open Bitch
I have to say that as a result I thought the bitch line-up was one of the worst I'd ever seen. I guess from the animals she had there she did the best she could but it was a far cry from the year before. We still don't know who's judging us next year!

what breed are you in? I'm in rotts

in our breed we had the best judge possible, the person who introduced the breed to the UK -yes a pup I bred did well but my OWN pup didn't so I think I can say it without being too biased. But the judge choice was hugely popular and made our entry the largest we've ever had.I loved the dog and bitch CC winners, the bitch came from abroad and took BOB and she was a stunner. :)

No complaints! He was rather abrupt in his mannerisms but was quick yet thorough and felt his choices were of constant type and no suprises

I think our judge did really well and I agreed with most of her placings unfortunately didn,t see all of the bitch judging but we managed second in the group so the bitch she put up for best of breed must have appealed

I've heard a fair bit of grumbling about my breeds judge this year, the dog cc, bitch cc and reserve bcc were all sired by her dog beating some tough, better known competition. I don't show anymore but probably wouldn't have minded as my two are sired by the same dog :D I do find it hard though to say for sure that judging is unfair, to me it seems reasonable that you put up a type that you like, and you're bound to like the ones sired by your dog - thoughts anyone??

It has always seemed reasonable to me too, the judge will obviously like the type. Although with a numerically large breed, I would expect some other lines to appear.

I prefer a judge that sticks to type and puts up a good line up of similar animals(whether its my type or not) to one who you can't see what they're doing...at least you can then see reason to their judging.
