Does anyone on here show at crufts?  If so what prep are you doing now getting ready for the show?
- By Carla Date 08.03.06 21:20 UTC
I think that lel does, and Mel does, and probably Brainless, and JG does Discover Dogs - or has done - and LOADS of folk go :) And Dizzy does, but she doesn't come on any more... and Brihow Collies might... can't think who I have missed! :)

Good luck or break a leg (whichever is appropriate).  You better get to bed so your in tip top shape for the show.

Edited to say: Just looked up your dog on google and am thinking it took some grooming thats one big fury dog.
- By Missie Date 08.03.06 21:37 UTC
sleeping on sofa  always do if I have to get up really early, scared I will roll over in bed and fall asleep again- this way i am assured of getting up! :P
- By Missie Date 08.03.06 21:38 UTC
yes, its the drying that takes ages unless you happen to know a good friend who has a brilliant blaster :P
- By Lily Mc [gb] Date 08.03.06 22:29 UTC
Would if I could be bothered LOL - girls haven't been to a show this year to get a chance to qualify, but boy can go - but we didn't fancy wasting our money, will shop and watch instead this year.

Me! Am already late for bed as usual! Early start tomorrow!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 08.03.06 21:49 UTC
Well I have bathed Lexi, even though I saw those tell tail tufts appearing on her legs (she would have been a bit grubby looking otherwise).

She will have tommorow to dry thoroughly, while I am at Crufts tommorrow (wo)manning the Discover dogs stand with Kizi.

Friday will be a relatively late start compared to many, leaving at 6am, and only taking one of the two entered canines (Lexi) as have decided to leave Jozi at home in case she is in whelp.

I will be showing my freinds Open sog that I brd, so will have a relaxed showday compared to last year when I was mad enough to take 3 entered in two clases each.  Plan to get a chance to go to the loo this year, with just one to look after.

Grooming for me will consist of a comb through and go over with a slicker bruch on the bench, and will ahve a water spray bottle and towel in case some cleaning up is needed of muddy feet.

Thankfully Elkhounds are a wash and wear sort of dog, only getting bathed a couple of times a eyar, unless like my freind you have soil that stains the dogs pink, or there has been sustained wet weather.

So anyone want to come see me and Kizi in our booth tommorow please do say hello.

Im gutted I aint going, I was watching the American version and was addicted.  Cant wait to watch the "real" one ha ha
- By Brainless [gb] Date 08.03.06 22:26 UTC
showing in the UK isn't anything like in America, it is more real somehow, without all that Hollywod stuff, it's about real dogs.
- By LeanneK [gb] Date 08.03.06 22:27 UTC
Im glad to hear it.  I hope we have better commentators aswell because the ones in USA didnt have the first idea about dogs and said the craziest things!!
- By briedog [gb] Date 08.03.06 22:32 UTC

- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 08.03.06 22:38 UTC
Ooooh, look at you Briedog, getting herself all dolled up, I don't know :d :d

Well Lastar had a bath a couple of days ago, though he was also having a lady friend to visit :d   I'll be washing his woolly bits in the morning and then he'll be raring to go!  We are just doing Discover Dogs as my breed isn't allowed to be shown at the prestigous Crufts :d :d

Saturday my mum and I will be there again shopping.  Not planning on taking Lastar, but his dad from Spain, the human kind and someone from America who has one of his sons will be there, so I might get talked into taking him again, but would rather not as I like to save a day to do just shopping and walking around all of the halls.

Oooh, I've just pressed my suit and I've just washed my hair and I'm shortly to put it into curlers, very sexy :d :d

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE AND ESPECIALLY YOU TERRI GOT EVERYTHING CROSSED FOR YOU !  IT'S ABOUT TIME THAT YOU HAD A GOOD YEAR.
- By ClaireyS Date 08.03.06 22:48 UTC

Showing my Gordon setter Sunday.  Will be hand stripping him today.  He's going for a nice run Saturday morning then bath Saturday afternoon, lucky OH bought me a drier last year, then final trim and tidy Saturday pm.  No free running until Monday for him though!!

Trying to make sure I remember to take all my passes/food/water etc! for dog and family!

Getting butterflies thinking about it now!

Wishing everyone good luck and an enjoyable time.

Showing my Cavalier Saturday, so he's still filthy and bedraggled at present. Short walk tomorrow to make sure he has lots of energy on Saturday, then Friday night it's bath and very short supervised wee breaks with silly trousers on!

Good luck to everyone.

Am there Sunday with Idõ (the girls are going to spent the night before and the day of Crufts at a friends house) and being a wire he doesn't require much pampering :D
I stripped his ears the other day, tidied the bottom of his feet and I will do his nails tomorrow.

This morning he has been running arund the field like a loony, getting covered in muck and dunking himself in the stream...whoever said show-dogs have a boring life :P

And at this very moment he is up on my bed, fitting in yet more beauty sleep!

Best of luck to everyone, hope you have an enjoyable and not too tiring day :)

In fact I chalked two of the boys put them in the run all spotless and jumped in the shower. The rain came on ( sh-t)  I had to half dry and rechalk them. ( of course the sky was blue after that ;-))
