I have got two Labs and they are fed on Naturediet which is a wet food but since being on this they don't seem to want to drink very much. I have been giving them a mug of weak warm tea after each meal just so that I know they have had a drink. Is this wise?
Does anyone have any ideas?
because i think its something like 80% moisture- so the dogs are getting pretty much all of their required moisture from the food itself, dont worry just make sure there is water available for them ;)

I feed my cav naturediet and he drinks very little too, perhaps once a day.

When I changed to raw my dogs didn't drink nearly so much. I would think ND would have the same effect

My dogs are fed on Naturediet and at most they will have a drink once a day, a bit more if it's very hot or they have one of their "mad attacks" and run around like lunatics.
I would not give my dogs tea, especially if it has milk and sugar in it.
Unless you see any signs of them being dehydrated I wouldn't worry about it - It's 75% moisture so they will be getting a lot of the fluid they need from their food. I wouldn't being giving tea after every meal though, tea and cofee can actually have adverse effects on fluid levels and can cause dehydration.

Naturediet is 75% moisture, therefore the need for water diminishes. I am curious as to why you wish them to consume tea, what benefit does tea (with milk and sugar?) provide..........
I was giving them weak tea with a very little milk and no sugar. I never mentioned sugar in my post, I was worried that they were not drinking enough and this was the only thing I could be sure they would drink.
I have now stopped giving this.

My dogs get the odd spot of tea with a small amount of milk with no sugar, this is one of their special treats which they absolutely adore. My dogs eat healthily 99.9% of the time,i think they deserve the odd junk food treat,or in this case a weak cuppa every now and then, just like we do ;)
All my dogs are on Naturediet and they do not drink a lot only when its very hot weather or when they have been running around chasing each other. I would not worry too much as this food has a lot of liquid in it, so they are getting enough. The new Naturediet I think is even better as its not quite as solid as the old one was, as that was put in raw and cooked in the pack, The new one is cooked first and then packed and its much softer as well.
Saying that my lot would eat anything anyway
The first 6-8 weeks after I got my puppy home (at 8 weeks old) she was fed on a dry food, then I switched to Naturediet after reading on the forum what good food it is. She drank so much less and as the others say, only after exercise or if it's quite warm in the room with the open fire on. She is now 7.5 months old. I never worried about it, because water is available to her and a dog wouldn't dehydrate itself.
Tea is a diuretic of course and so it makes not much sense to give them tea in order to give them more fluids.
