Hiya,

We're off to Crufts this sunday (as spectators not showing) but don't know what time is best to leave in the morning.

We spoke to a neighbour who is showing on Thursday and said that she'd left Nottingham at 06:30 last year but didn't get in until 15:00....!!!! There's noway we want to be sat in traffic that long or miss anything.

Can anyone suggest from experience what time would be best to leave Nottingham Sunday morning? OH is sugesting 05:30.....me thinks that may be a tad too early:eek:

Look forward to your comments!

Cheers

As an exhibitor, I'm usually arriving at about 6.30am, and there are already people there before me. At that sort of time though you don't have any trouble getting into the car parks the traffic hasn't yet built up. So it's your call, on the one hand arriving very early to miss traffic, or arriving later having sat in a very very long queue.

Have a great time, you'll love it.

I decided to give it a miss this year, but now that it's upon us, I wish I was going after all.

You will need comfy shoes, and there is nowhere to sit, so something like a shooting stick, easily carried lightweight folding chair over the shoulder will be a boon.

I would go with arrive early.

Sunday especially will be a complete nghtmare.  Imagine a crowded train, that is how packed it gets

Don't you mean tin of sardines...
It's darn near impossible to try and walk your dog (exhibitors) through a hall.
Tried this last year and jo public give you filthy looks as you say excuse me when they are just about
to trample all over your dog  Hello it's a dog show:rolleyes:

So glad that I'm a spectator this year and going home before the 4pm home time for exhibitors :)

Hope you have a great time, oh and don't forget to take your own sarnies as it's quite expensive in the cafes.
I normally just wrap them in sandwich bags and put them in carrier bag within my rucksack that way once
you've eaten your sarnies plenty of room to stuff shopping in the rucksack :D

Wear comfy shoes or by the end of the day your feet will be killing you! Also take plenty to drink the air is quite dry in there and it will help prevent you getting a really sore throat after the event, which many people complain about. It can get very hot in the halls as well.

The judging of flatcoat bitches starts at 8.30 am - and will go on for most of the day - untill around 3pm I would have thought - giving you plenty of time to watch them!

I'm not even trying to go by car - unless you get there really early at the weekend you'l be stuck in the queue for the car park for HOURS and then have to wait for a shuttle bus to get you to the NEC - the railway station is practically within spitting distance of the halls - if your'e not exhibiting it's much the best way to go !

I was told by my station that there are major rail works on Sunday and to check before leaving on Sunday that you can get there. The train runs from my village into Birmingham International and I have been told no trains this weekend.
