Hi, my pups are now a week old and little beauties. Just a quick question about their toileting habits. Up until now they have been kept very clean by Roxy but I noticed yesterday that their bedding seemed to be dirty. I change it twice daily as Roxy gets it quite messy but now it is getting smelly aswell. Obviously I will have to change it more often as they get bigger but I just wondered what age they poo on their own without stimulation from Mum. The poo seems to be quite runny is this normal as up until now I have not really seen any. Does all this sound normal as I am beginning to think that maybe they have upset tummies. All are putting on weight daily and are very content and peaceful, twitching when sleeping. Grateful for any help. Louise
Hya, if I remember rightly yes their poos are runny and mine where yellowish in colour and mum will clean up after them for quite a while yet, I think it's when they start to whean that mum will start to stop cleaning them as much. I think everything does sound normal for now. I used to have to clean up and put new bedding down every three or four hours or so but we had a huge litter. Good luck, Christine.

oooh i was about to ask the same thing! i dont remember mine pooing earlier than about 2 weeks before! :-)
have yours slowed down with their feeding aswell now? ive noticed meg is spending less time in with them now than she did the 1st week, altho the pups are gaining weight daily
Yes they have slowed down, seem to be in more of a routine. Roxy leaves them pretty much after every feed but never goes far and always comes running when one of them whines. How old are yours? They are just beginning to open their eyes they are just soooo sweet. They are definately pooing on their own cause I sit and watch them and try to clean them up myself before they smear it over each other.(nice!)
