Marriage split: genuine, or a cynical ploy to save her sorry a** from being fired out the door?
My vote is with her trying to save her career by dropping her hubby. The woman really will go to any lengths to cling on to her excuse of a career...
Thoughts?

Oh, OK - one of the newby MPs :) Don't know much about him :)
Daisy
>TB is on his way out as asking GOD to tell him if he was right to go to war
That is not what he said at all ..it is simply what the papers interprated him as saying ;) (And this from a NONE TB supporter :D )
He said:
"If you have faith about these things then you realise that judgement is made by other people. If you believe in God,it's made by God as well."
Which isn't the same thing ;)

She's a goner, just a matter of time ;)
El Presidente Blair has given the game away, 'Jowel has his full support' as did David Blunkett and Alistair Campbell to name but two, Blairs full support seems to be the kiss of death to any politicians career :D
Agree whole heartedly with Robert, the whole thing is a rather sad smoke screen

What I don't understand is that I thought we had a government not some sort of dynasty. How is it a foregone conclusion that Blair can hand the reins over to Brown without some sort of internal party election?

especially when Brown isn't even the Deputy Prime Minister - the person who's
supposed to take over the reins if the PM is taken ill, or is on overseas work, or is otherwise unavailable to do the job.

I'm glad it's not just me then. It smacks of being back at school and choosing your best friend for your team regardless of how good or bad they are.

LOL - he really needs to be a bit more high profile :( I must write to TB to suggest it :D :D :D

Prescott is only there as a sop for the unionsWhat a pity none of you know John only his public persona & would prefer a tory with little life experience
I met a lady who had known John for longer than most people on here have been alive(& the lady was 105 years old at the time & with a razor sharp mind) & far from what you choose to believe from the media she told me no one tells John what to think Not the unionss or other politicians. I've known john from when he was in the union & a sea going steward & unlike so many other politicians(espeically the tories & Lib Dems)he has never forgotten his roots with the real people of this country
Having had the dubious pleasure met both DC & Minging Ming as well I know who I would trust & it definitely wouldn't be either of them
Have also met Boris & what an obnoxious person he is, a really typical tory come to think of it

It's a matter of opinion isn't it :) I'm certainly not pushing Boris to be PM :D :D :D but then I don't think John Prescott is wonderful either :)

You're welcome to him MM! The public persona is what is representing me abroad and that's what I'm not happy with. I'm sure that his Mum and his friends love him, and that's the way it should be. :)
>What a pity none of you know John only his public persona & would prefer a tory with little life experience
I actually prefer no one. As for only knowing JP by his public persona, we have little choice do we? What I do know about him though is that he included in his plans for improvement to sanction to the demolition of an eyesore in our towncentre which has been vacant for years and where windows from this big office building just fall out on the pavements below. Also he promised to regenerate our local precinct, all of which has yet to happen:rolleyes: Things that he actually has done around here is magically turned greenbelt land alongside my town into brownbelt land so that thousands of houses can be built regardless of the pressure that it will put on the town's infrastructure and services. Also he sanctioned the demolition an old school used as a training centre for young people and with a very busy public swimming pool for a housing estate

>What a pity none of you know John only his public persona & would prefer a tory with little life experience
LOL. Why on earth WOULD we know him other than his public persona? If he is so wonderful - why doesn't he drop his "public persona" and show the real man?!
I remember when he was Minister of Transport (I think that was his title anyway) when I lived in Hull and was telling us all to use Public Transport. He then used our heli pad outside work in Hessle to land his helicopter when he was on a visit somewhere - hypocrital or WHAT?! :D
>why doesn't he drop his "public persona" and show the real man?
He did once when he nearly decked a protester. What a right hook?

Didn't say he was wonderful did I unless I'm reading a different post He's human unlike DC & Minger who are obviously Saints ;)
As hypocritical as DC who has got "Sir Bob"on side to win votes ? on the environment & proverty after his party gave away the ownership of most of the UK's assets & who sold weapons etc to dictators that have caused proverty in some countries ?
Slight matter of Public Office security prevents him from using PT but his wife certainly does BTW

You can't vote for the best, only damage limitation based on the information given out at the time which is scant at best.
POLITICIANS...BLAH BLAH BLAH!!! They are ALL the same, promise the earth deliver nothing!!!

Wasn't it Prescotts wife who used the ministerial jag to drive 200yards in order to save her hair do? :D
>Have also met Boris & what an obnoxious person he is, a really typical tory come to think of it
Please explain to me exactly what a *typical Tory* is MM?

I have to say I have always liked John Prescott. I bet he is a very interesting person to talk to. He may not be 'PC', but I would trust someone who speaks his mind over someone who speaks spin all the time.

But, unlike Dennis Skinner who is also a union representative and only takes the average wage, I believe, John Prescott takes all the trappings of a Conservative, not the Socialist that he is supposed to be. Even Ken Livingstone uses the tube to get to work - unlike 'two-jags' Prescott :D Shameless hypocracy :)
Daisy

It has nothing to do with unions. He is in the cabinet and the deputy leader. He has a company car like the rest of the cabinet, I couldn't see anyone turning it down and taking the bus. As deputy leader it is also there for his security.

His grace and favour flat will be there for his security too.............................financial security in old age more like, something most union members won't enjoy in their old age.
ooh wasn't there a scandal over that too

poor JP forgetting to declare expenses or forgetting to pay rent, busy busy man.
They all get their noses stuck in the trough as soon as they get the chance.

It was awfully careless of the poor man to forget that council tax is payable on houses ... ;)
