Hi,I be greatful for any advice. my yorkie gave birth through the night, sadly 4 of her 7 pups have died. She is very distraught, she is feeding 2 health pups but there is 1 more pup i'm concerned about. this pup had trouble breathing and i had to revive it, now she seems fine but mum wont let her feed and keeps rejecting her.I don't know wot 2 do for the best, should i take this pup away and hand rear it? I'm scared incase we lose this little one aswell.

Sorry to hear of the deaths of your puppies. Have you checked the other pups for cleft palate? Rather than try to handrear the poorly pup you'd do better to hold mum still to get the pup to feed from her; colostrum is vital, and mum's milk is better than any formula.

Hi

Sounds like mum knows there is something wrong with it.

Rather than take it away I would latch it on to mum and see if it will drink. If she is not keen then you will have to try the bottle but mums milk it better especially when new born

What happened to the others?  Did they start breathing?  Did they suckle?  How warm is the room that they're in?  Have you left them unattended?

What happened to the others? I am guessing the were born alive as you have said they died.
