Hi just to ask do any of your dogs watch T.V because my dog will sit down and watch T.V anytime of the day but he is not a couch potato.

My dog doesn't seem to be able to see the TV.  If I point to things on there like dogs or cats etc she looks all over the TV as if there aren't any pictures.  She rarely responds to any noises on TV either.  She jumped up once when someone whistled and that was it.

My Aussie, Meg, enjoys watching collie type dogs and sheep on the tele.

Our Airedale was fast asleep by the TV one night. There was an enormous Splash !!!! when something was thrown into a river on the TV & Dylan stood up, shook himself all over & lay down again - don't think he even woke up!. :D :D

One of my dogs will watch anything with choiristers or opera in it and he will sing all the way through.  He howled his way through the Queen Mother's Funeral on TV.  (He also sings when the ice cream man arrives).

Mine dont, but my mothers male westie does.

He gets very excited whenever there are animals on the tv, expecially other dogs. And he gets super excited when there are babies on TV as well.

He jumps up at the screen and licks it trying to get at the other animals inside. And then he runs behind the tv unit to see where the other animals are. Then cries because he cant find them.

Its so cute

Mine do and if there are tiny pups squeaking my eldest bitch goes frantic running all over the place to find them!

My boy love Emmerdale will watch it all the way through without moveing at all. he also loves vets programes .

My girl used to like to watch Family Affairs but confused now its not on. The reason for liking the programme was that she knew that at the end and they played the signatur tune she got fed. It did not matter that they played it at the beginning and in the advertising break, she knew that she had to wait untill the end. If the end came and you did not move she would become very restless and come over and nudge you as a reminder. Clever girl LOL

Lol.

Try putting on something like Babe or Milo and Otis. I bet he will go nuts just like my mothers dog does. :)

Mine loves nature programs. Especially elephants, big cats and anything with birds. We have lots of nose prints to clean off the tele.

- By Dogz Date 02.03.06 17:54 UTC

All of mine watch anything to do with animals, they all have different reactions, the girls listen for pups crying and join in with the wimpering, the old staff barks at lions and tigers. I used to have a chihuahua that loved snooker and she always tried to chase the cue ball. My friends Rotty was obsessed with football and ran behind the tv when the ball was kicked out of view to try to find it. Chris

I think that my boy thinks the TV is a window. When he sees anything exciting then he runs around the house to the other side of the wall behind the TV and looks around. He likes films, especially the lion roaring at the beginning

My dogs have all tended to notice the TV as puppies when there's something interesting like another dog on there. But once they've had a look behind it and seen that there's nothing there, they ignore it after that. I've had at least 3 of my past dogs do that, though I did have a collie x retriever who loved to watch wildlife programs.

One of my dogs wont watch it at all - not even look at it! My husky will watch it if there is a programme with animals on. My mini aussie will watch the tv and talk and quietly bark at it is there is another animal barking on the TV!  My old staffie was so sweet - she would lie in a play bow watching the TV for hours! she knew the music to animal hospital and would come running through! once she atched a whole doggy film all the way through! about 2 hours on her own in the dark - we kept checking and she was still watching! she also used to try and eat whatever was on the tv and slobber all over it - yuk!!
- By tisha [gb] Date 03.03.06 15:30 UTC
mine likes the music to eastenders and home and away sits up with  ears straight
- By Dogz Date 05.03.06 20:09 UTC

Mine goes to our front door whenever someone knocks on a door on telly. To a point where she'll sit and look round at you expecting us to get up and let someone in!

She'll occasionally jump up at the screen when animals are on too.

I have a fantastic picture of my dog (Cocker Spaniel) watching Crufts, I love the picture, he often watches football too!  Nell our lhasa sadly not now with us used to bark when a door bell rang even though we didn't have one!  She was from rescue so obviously remembered the sound from her previous home maybe!
- By cathh5 [gb] Date 04.03.06 12:29 UTC
Ozzy loves TV, his fave is finding nemo dvd (he wont move when thats on!!). Tilly just barks like mad at the TV when dogs, cats and horses are on it. Ozzy also likes to watch crufts, as strange as it sounds when cavvies are on he is transfixed !!

Our 5 week old pups have also started to sit in front of the TV !!!!
- By ridgielover Date 05.03.06 20:19 UTC
Meg, my Aussie (shepherd) has REALLY enjoyed the Crufts preview, especially the flyball.
