If you love Mahogany then this is the time to buy it as it is at it's all time low. ( it will come around again so worth buy ;-) ) I love old peices of furniture , nice wellc rafted pieces. I have quite a few antique sets of drawers.. They are oak and waxed. I also have a lovely black granite old clock. I love it.

:rolleyes:Isn't it just Blue! I sold an Edwardian chiffonair for £100 when I moved here and didn't have anywhere to put it!!!
OMG Val!.............You'll kick yourself in the future! :) I haven't gone much on mahogany before now, I have been more into stripped pine, but I wanted to match an inherited mahogany chest of drawers. It is good to be able to 'marry in' old and new though isn't it?

I know. It was valued in the 1000s at one time and I was hoping ........ But I put it in an auction with £250 reserve, twice, and no takers. In the end I sold it to someone who I knew loved it as much as I did!
Well that's one good thing, at least you know it will be appreciated! I am a terrible hoarder, my kids will have a field day after our days! I try to tell them the history behind some of the things I have acquired so that they know what is what when I go!! :) (They are into MDF!! :) :) )

That is a shame Val. ( just noticed all the poor typing and spelling in my post LOL)
I keep telling people if they can and the peices are nice hang onto them BUT I know what it is like when space is a factor.
I saw 4 beautiful chairs sold for £20 for the 4.. I near cried. The craftmanship in them was incredible.

Oh don't!! That reminds me of 4 beautiful Victorian chairs that I renovated - used the old springs, horse hair, hand stitched, hand tacked, no staples etc. Struggled to give them away - truly.
