We have a 5 month old minature puppy who is wonderful

Last thrusday evening she vomited her dinner (pedigree puppy and mixer) undigested about 2 hours after feeding. She wouldn't eat her breakfast or dinner, but did eat her evening meal but again vomited - undigested.

Saturaday morning she vomited yellow frothy liquid - we took her to the vet where she has no temprature, so he gave her an antibiotic injection with something to stop her vomiting - and said to make sure she took small drinks and that we did not try yo feed her again until sunday with a return visit for as further injection Monday. She slept all saturday and sunday _ when we weren;t waking her up to drink

We did all this but she would not eat sunday - Sunday evening she perked up and monday morning had a very small portion of puppy complete.

went bak to the vets - no temprature- another injection (B12 and penicillen) and since then she has eaten nothing and just wants to sleep.

Yesterday we went again - this time temprature slightly low and got some lectade (lucozade for dogs?) which we have given as instructed - 10ml evey hour with a syringe. Also too xrays and blood tests.

rang the vets this monring he was surprosed she is still not eating and has admitted her. nothing on the xray - blood high in urea and calcium. plan is to put her on a drip for firstly liquids and then some food.

The vet - has said he honestly doesn'tknow what is happening - we have racked our brains to think if she has eaten anything but are also at a loss - Has anyone seen anything like this or got any ideas?

up to this she has been eating and growin really well with bags of energy.

thanks in advance

Very sorry to hear of your sick puppy. I don't know what is wrong of course but I had a puppy with the same symptoms he also had diarrhoea and had to spend 5 days at the vets on a drip, I was frantic and the vet could not find out what had caused it. He came home after the 5 days and after another week he was almost back to normal. He is now 11 years old hale and hearty. All the best and keep us posted on his progress.
