Arghhhh!!!! Other halfs sister has just turned up without prior aggreement (so I could not leave the house in time- dogs do need walking at these times )

She was saying that she has just left her unneutered cat having fun with the resident tom cat in the middle of the street. When I pointed out that she will have lots of kittens she said it costs £20 to get them neutered and the last cat she got neutered escaped from an upstairs window and got run over so it was a waste of money :mad::mad: I had to leave the room!!!!

Anyway, frustration vented . I'm not aloud to give my points of view to any of other halfs family as it will only end up in arguments.

Anyone else have problems with inlaws??? Thank god I only see them once a year

I'm lucky :-) I dont have any in-laws, for the same sorts of reasons (they always tried telling me what to do) we had a massive row with them one day and we haven't seen them since :-) Suits me fine

i am soo glad my OH has no sisters, only two brothers that we see once in a blue moon. Its bad enough when his mum visits  she has this awful cackle of a laugh which just irritates me and whats worse my OH is starting to sound like her!
But I remember when she got herself a puppy last year, I think she had it all of 3 weeks when she gave it back to the breeder cos it wouldn't stop crying at night time  I had to bite my tongue when she told me though I let OH know later exactly what I felt about her!

I'm very lucky as OH has 3 brothers and 2 sisters and I love them all and their OHs and kids.  Never had any probs with any in-laws, sorry to sound smug but this is one area I don't have probs with.

Well done Geeky Girl, I wouldn't have been able to hold my tongue!!!!  At the very least I would've pointed out that raising the kittens would cost her more than £20...

I don't have issues with inlaws (not having any helps :D ) but I have the same problem with my brother - I refrain from saying what I think because he'll either not listen and blank me totally like a 12-year-old (he's 31), or threaten to hit me.  Such a charmer!

I havent spoken to my in laws for 2 years. We fell out on my wedding day. OH still sees them and takes the dog down as they are huge animal lovers. I dont like my brother in law either, in fact i sometimes wonder if my OH was switched at birth as he is nothing like any of them lol. I know what you mean though about biting your tounge, my problem was the opposite, my mother in law would unpolitely ram her opinions at you whether you ask for them or not and if you didnt agree with her you were blo**y stupid, thick or something similar. I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but hers were from the 50's:eek: One argument we had was because i didnt have a meal on the table and a bath run when he got in from work, We both worked full time at the time and his mother said to him, dump her and find yourself something decent  Such a nice lady, but i never lost my temper with her as she was his mum until my wedding day when enough was enough and i blew a fuse and told them both, (they were both on one) if they didnt like our arrangements then dont bother coming. The sad thing about it was, we had made many of them around his parents due to health reasons and we had given in to a lot of their invite requests. Now as far as they are concerned i please myself as they dont think twice about my feelings. I know how difficult it is as OH wont hear a bad word against them and would rather keep quiet then back me up. A big well done for biting your tounge you should give yourself a treat for keeping the piece.
