does anybody know if you can make a dog sensitive to wheat and glutton by feeding them a wheat and glutton free diet. i have been feeding jwb for quite a while now. however have found that my dogs nolonger tolerate scrapes. if i feed anything other than jwb they get the runs.

First of all, JWB isn't gluten-free - it contains barley, which contains also gluten ;)  it is however wheat, and 'wheat-gluten' free ;)

As far as getting the runs is concerned, it may simply be that the type of ' scrapes' you've been giving them just don't suit them ;)  In order to assess whether it's the wheat and/or gluten, you'd have to give the details of what you're giving them :)

For reference purposes, only wheat, barley and rye contain gluten, oats contain a substance similar to gluten (in its effect on the gut).  But they are pretty common in various pre-prepared human foods and are added to some of the most unlikely foods too, which is a nightmare for those of us who must avoid them :(

Hope this helps.

Afternoon..

I have always tried to feed my GSD's, on a gluten, and wheat gluten free diet as they are prone to sensitivity..have never had a problem with any of them wanting to devulge any decent scraps that we allow them to have   Bowls always left sparkling..who needs any of these dishwashing products LOL
