my cavalier has started to rub her bum on me, if i am patting her she spins around and starts rubbing her bum on me i dont know why she is doing this and it really isnt pleasand especially seens i was lying on the lounge last night when she did it too my face

Is it possible she is flirting with you slee?

My female often presents her bum to me,she loves it when i scratch the base of her tail. The theory is that females prefer to be scratched at the base because thats where the male would rub when mating.Male dogs like it on the chest for the same reason.Not too sure how true this is :p It just might feel good and your girl is tring to show you where she wants scratched :)

The female who shoves her bum at me has been mated before,however my other female who has never been mated does not do it.....

i always get presented with the rear end of my dog, I like his head better but he wants his bum and "inner thigh" rubbed This is starting to sound a bit obscene.i assure you it isnt.

My stud dog shoves his backside at us too!

Well i thought it might be a mating season thing because she hasnt had her first season yet and she is approaching one but ive never had a girl do that before

As I'm trying to type this, my younger male RR is presenting his rump to me to be rubbed - he arches his back like a cat and will rub the base of his tail against your hand.  A very odd dog!

Hmm, glad my dog's not the only one.  She likes being scratched and slapped on her rear end and often presents this end to me after nuzzling up for a cuddle.  BTW she's not been mated and is spayed and still does this.

I'm glad my cavalier doesn't do that!! Mine will roll over onto his back asking me to rub his belly instead!!

My cavalier likes her feet rubbing and her bum scratching, its funny to see her when shes not quite sure which one she prefers doing at the time and starts trying to offer her bum and front paws at the same time. I call her my spaghetti dog when she does this.:rolleyes:

Mine likes having her belly rubbed as well :rolleyes:  She starts off by sitting at your feet and you stroke her head and ears and she literally slides down the front of your legs until she is lying on her back, legs akimbo

Mine are mainly tummy rub dogs, specially my Yankee - you only have to look at him and he's on his back! :-D My girl goes all wriggly if you scratch near the base of her tail, but then she's pretty wriggly anyway!!

Tansy has an odd one!! She will wait till you are sitting with one leg crossed over the other, then will stand over your raised foot with her belly resting firmly on it. She will raise one back leg and rest that on your foot too, and twist her head round the other way so her chin rests on your toes!! I think she was a contortionist in a previous life!!
