After the problems ive had with Alfie over the past couple of months with his back legs we obviously havent been doing anything much at shows because his movement isnt up to much, I havent taken all the knocks we have had to heart (although I was on the verge of packing it all in :( ) and I have persevered with the swimming and also biking with him and jogging and today it paid off, we not only won our class but also got Reserve Best in Breed, im so chuffed :D

Thats 18 points now towards our JW ............... now all we need to do is win both of our classes at Crufts .............. ;)

Wow - well done Claire!  Nice to put a face to a name!  and I missed it!  busy watching the gordons!  Worth the trip today!
Yippee to you and Alf.

Well done both of you! My girl got a 5th yesterday, but considering it was a class of 9 and I didn't think the judge would like her at all, I was very pleased! And my boy got 2nd - I can see why the judge preferred the winning dog, though personally I prefer my boy - of course! :-)

How did you do Rachel ? I saw you in the ring but missed the placings

and to think this morning when I woke up I nearly decided not to bother going :D

Got third today - so better than last week and happy with that.

Weather was awful wasn't it - hope your boys enjoyed their run on the way home!  With weather like today it's so easy to decide to stay at home - well done to you both - keep smiling and tell everyone!!!

Next show Crufts - of course you will win both of those too!!!  :)

Im glad you got placed, there were two people next to me when you were in the ring commenting on your boys tail, basically saying you shouldnt be showing him with it like that as its not pleasing on the eye   I felt like turning round to them and saying "well actually he won a really big class just the other week" but I didnt want them to know I was listening into their conversation

Thanks Claire - cheeky moos aren't they.  Must get my hubby to stand round earwigging peoples conversations and putting them right!

He makes up for it in other areas and the reason he was successful last year in the ring is certainly not down to his tail!! And he certainly shouldn't be penalised for it at all (well you hope that would be the case).  Although at opens as some judges aren't gordon people I think he may get 'marked down'.  One judge asked if it was down to damage that it had been amputated - well what else would it be??

Once the fur grows back it will look alot better and may be a bit more pleasing on the eye for them :-)

Many 'top' gordoners have done well with a 'docked' tail (thru injury of course) as they are prone to them - one winning 9CC's they may want to know!

I'm assuming they weren't Gordon people!  Well hope not! :(
