Our year old bordeaux has started peeing every night for the last few weeks. And even sometimes in the day when we come home he has done it also.Prior to this he was well house trained and if your there will always let you know when he wants to go out..he goes out last thing at night too.Have scrubbed kitchen with several detergents etc to remove the scent but he still does it.Someone suggested crating him at nighttime and when we go out would this help? Thanks in advance..

First things first - he needs to be checked by a vet to ensure he doens't have a urinary infection.  Secondly, cleaning up should take 3 steps - 1) soak up all excess liquid and remove any solid waste.  2) Washt eh area thourghly with a biological washing powder solution.  3) When the area is dry, spray with white or surgical spirit.  If you follow this procedure it should remove any scent traces which are encouraging him to make in the same spot.

It may also be brought on by a bitch in season in the area (and it doesn't have to be the immediate area).

thanks for the reply..it is always thouroughly cleaned as you say..its almost as if he is scenting as its not always huge amounts..we have an older male dog in the house would this be the reason?
