- By bedruthen Date 15.02.06 13:21 UTC
We read all the books, bought squeaky toys, chewy toys, toys that roll, balls, soft cuddly bear, the lot.
And what does our little girl like playing with best ? yup a toilet roll inner, the remote tv control and my left slipper - not the right one though , oh and anything that the other dog has !

Is this normal:confused::rolleyes: !!
- By shelwil [gb] Date 15.02.06 13:32 UTC
Sounds about right to me,  my 3 love anything they know they should not have, my staffy love a toliet roll inner but if he manages to get one with toliet roll still on even better

They also love my slippers, left or right ones, they are not fussy, and sock. Bandit my staffy really loves a football, but they never last long he always bursts them.

Rambo's favourite toys are.......... tea towels! He goes nuts for them and we have to buy them in bulk as so many get torn!
- By hairypooch Date 15.02.06 13:39 UTC
Me! :D
- By Soli Date 15.02.06 15:39 UTC
LOL Goldmali,
My young bitch has one very sad and bedraggled teatowel which she carries round the house!!  She's torn a hole in the middle of it and flings it up in the air and manages to "catch" it over her head!  Head then goes through the towel which she then proceeds to wear! doing does the rounds of whoever's in the house (canine, feline or human!) to show them the latest fashion! LOL

A coke bottle. Literally hours of fun....
- By roz [gb] Date 15.02.06 13:52 UTC
Coal and specs!
- By copper_girl [gb] Date 15.02.06 14:25 UTC
Once in Copper's paws, toys don't really last long but he did have a toy mouse that he loved.  All that's left is one leg and that is carefully hidden away in his basket.  He much prefers chewy bones and kongs and strangely my bra's - he likes chewing the straps off them:confused:

Plastic plant pots, always careful to remove the plant first and chew thoroughly.  Suppose it saves me planting them.
- By HuskyGal Date 15.02.06 14:48 UTC
After ££££'s of 'Indestructable' balls...
The plastic Persil washing liquid dispenser ball.. he will hover over you as you pull out the washing from the machine, as soon as it plops on the floor...gone in seconds!
He loooves the way it skitters across the stone and tile floor..like a hockey puck.. he will swoosh it around for hours with his paw, he has learnt if he presses down real hard on it with his paw..it will scoot off at different angles at high speed, and he will hare after it....:D

all that money we spent... and hours of fun with the persil ball (which although the flimsiest of things never gets chewed)
- By LucyD [gb] Date 15.02.06 14:51 UTC
George is quite keen on the oven gloves, and Ellie likes to bring in sticks and twigs and chew on them!! At least she does play with some of the shop bought toys too though. Henry doesn't play with anything, he never has. Although there's one toy he occasionally decides he wants to have, but forgets why once he's run off with it!! :-D
- By iluvacav [gb] Date 15.02.06 15:06 UTC
when we first got Ellie she had a teddy toy placed in her bed as company. Its a spongy ball with arms and legs with a lions head, the head has long gone, so now she has a spongy ball with arms and legs. When we say "bedtime" she searches for this and takes  it into bed with her. She has alot of other more expensive interactive toys, but we cant beat the what we call teddy.

If i have to wash it, i have to sneak it away or else she sits in front of the washer gazing adoringly until the cycle has finished, you have to be quick to get it out or shes off with it dripping and hiding it so i cant take it again. We did try to by a replacement when the head got ragged off,but she was having none of it. To this day the new one is sat outside under the benches.

bye for now julie.  oh yeah and my favourite bush usually gets alot of attention.
- By Charanda [de] Date 15.02.06 15:13 UTC
Glazby has a cuddly sheep that he carries around by one of the legs.  He also loves to chew the caps off of coke bottles and we have learned from experience never to leave a bottle on the floor if its still got coke in.  (Learned that one after a vodka and coke session, went to bed and came down the next morning nursing a sore head to find cola all over the floor)!!
- By HuskyGal Date 15.02.06 15:17 UTC
so is Glazby out of 'Puppy classes' and in AA now  ;)
- By Charanda [de] Date 15.02.06 15:22 UTC
Yep, I'm a terrible mother!!  **Shakes head**

Glaz actually left the vodka alone and gave me a disgusted look later and complained that I hadn't left any ice out to go with it!!  ;-)
- By hairyloon [gb] Date 15.02.06 15:34 UTC
My boy's favourite toy??? Anything he's not supposed to have, even better if it's been stolen from where I hid it!!!!

He has a small leather football that he's had for ages and it absolutely stinks!! But he won't give it up. I've just bought him a tyre shaped toy from the pet shop, so that's his new fave at the moment, but after a week or 2 the novetly will wear off and the smelly football will be dug up from the garden again :)

Other than that, he goes mad for loo roll or kitchen roll inners - dances round and round in circles grunting like an idiot when he's got one of those!

mines got loads of persil washing balls too, he's much happier playing with them than all his other toys! :)
- By spiritulist [in] Date 15.02.06 19:49 UTC
Plastic plant pots too! She likes to run around the garden with it on the end of her nose like a clown. If theres none empty, she'll create one!
- By Lori Date 15.02.06 15:38 UTC
just like children - the box is always the best bit!
Milo loves socks, tissues (used please, he'll dance for you), paper (the more important the better), and stuffed squeeky toys. His current favorite is a turkey he got for Christmas.

I think it's completely normal
- By newfiedreams Date 15.02.06 20:06 UTC
Errmmm...ME!!! LOL I play for hourse, then wonder why no house work gets done!! Seriously though, they have a little mousey thing that vibrates and drives them crazy! With the big Girls it's the Frizby every time!
- By huskypup [gb] Date 15.02.06 20:34 UTC
A large fluffy pronged jester's hat shaped toy with sqeakers in the end of each prong which was bought for her by a friend, she loves chucking it around and chasing it because it never bounces straight.  She loves all soft toys but this is the only one she's got that hasn't got a hole in it and been disembowled, and she's had it since the summer! :D
- By bek [gb] Date 15.02.06 20:36 UTC
my dog also has a toy that vibrates(eyore) he sits for hours just pulling the cord and watching it,it is soooo funny to watch.
- By newfiedreams Date 15.02.06 20:44 UTC
Yeah it is Bek...so funny watching them pull the cord and hold it while it 'buzzes' LOL I thought mine were SOOOOclever doing it, now I found out they aint!!! LOL
- By morgan [gb] Date 16.02.06 08:52 UTC

- By Isabel Date 16.02.06 08:58 UTC

- By munkeemojo Date 15.02.06 21:06 UTC
anything they shouldn't have. Bu likes pants (my thongs in particular) and socks-he waits for hubby to take them off, and as soon as he has, he bombs off with them. I have caught him with a "toy" before if you get my drift . My fault for leaving the drawer open! As for doggy toys, Teka has a fluffy dog from pets and home which grunts-she adores it. She sometimes sleeps with it too. They also go mad for this rubber ball with feet on it-the squeaker hole is between its feet, so they try for ages to kill the squeak, but just can't seem to manage! At this moment in time, Bu is chasing a squished bottle round the floor while Teka looks on in disgust.
- By dollface Date 16.02.06 00:34 UTC
My dogs love the Herculies bones, always leaving lil pieces of it all over my carpet to clean up. I guess at least they are brushing their teeth :D lol
- By louisechris1 [gb] Date 16.02.06 09:08 UTC
Freya loves plant pots, running around the garden with them on her nose, Casper is a bit of an attention seeker and steals anything and everything - his favourite being the dishcloth, although he loves my husbands socks - but not mine, interestingly!  Lola doesn't really 'do' toys, but if pushed it is the string of sausages you can get from PAH (also a favourite of Freya's).  Baby Elsa also loves socks and pants (mine this time!) and her rattley squeaky fish from PAH.  Empty plastic bottles (minus the lid) are also a big favourite of all of them - put in a few 'nibbles' and they will play with them for ages, trying to get the treats out - a lot cheaper than a Kong too!
- By Nu77y [gb] Date 16.02.06 10:27 UTC
My monsters love any plastic bottles going..once OH finishes his coke or any other drink, bottles get chucked to the tribe...they r really comical once they hav one in their paws, first the lid gets chewed and spat out then next goes the plastic rim, off comes the label then they demolish it till theres nothing left...good thing is they spit it all out as they go along, so once finished i go out to a pile of plastic bits LOL
- By JaneG [gb] Date 16.02.06 10:33 UTC
Mine love plastic bottles too...but don't you hate the noise they make while you're talking on the phone or watching tv :D  Then of course they always manage to get the sticky bits of the label stuck to their coats...but they DO have such fun :)
- By HuskyGal Date 16.02.06 12:15 UTC

>Bu likes pants (my thongs in particular) - he waits for hubby to take them off<

  I have visions now of your Hubby being like Pinocchio in Shrek2 ;) ;)
Remember the Gingerbread man.."He's wearing a lady's Thong!!!"
- By lab lover [gb] Date 16.02.06 13:33 UTC
has to be a queaky ball I bought her for Xmas.  She seems to play with it more when were busy watching tele - I wonder why:confused:  Keep threatening to take the squeaker out!
- By peewee [gb] Date 16.02.06 16:35 UTC
Our little Sheltie girl loves her pink 'poodle' stuffed toy with a hard-to-find squearker inside, stuffed 'sheep' that makes the most pathetic "Baa!" sound (it resembles a dying duck more than a sheep! ), 'christmas cracker-esque' squeaky bone, 'catterpillar' with squeakers and textures like crackling (kinda like a babies toy) and a cheap and cheerful rawhide chew (the 100% natural rawhides gave her the runs).  She's also got rubber toys but she hasn't so much as sniffed at them

She does make off with my fluffy slippers with dangly-legged giraffe on given half the chance, and had a thing for shoes when we first got her but we just 'swap' our things for hers when she's in 'little sod mode'

:D

Woofa who is now 10 weeks old loves my brush from my dustpan and brush as his favourite 'non toy', he carries it everywhere and if he does something he shouldn't, we tell him to "go to bed" he then runs to where the brush is picks it up & takes it to bed with him. As his favourite toy out of the whole toybox of toys we brought for him, it has to be 'Lamby' a blue fluffy lamb wearing a silly hat with dangly bits everywhere which has a squeaker inside, Lamby is the toy he picks up if we tell him we are going 'car' (out in car).
Aren't little puppies so much fun!! (especially at 2a.m!)
- By pudsli [gb] Date 16.02.06 18:25 UTC
our girl staffy love a cudly toy from the £1 shop. she has great fun in pulling out all the stuffing, which she neatly piles up. then she rag's hell out of it. then we clean up the mess. all the best steve
- By Jetstone Jewel [ca] Date 16.02.06 21:22 UTC
Our girl doesn't play with any toy unless I am playing too.  Even then she is not fussy on toys and would rather play tag and hide and seek with me.  But as a puppy her favourite thing was to shred soft plastic planting pots, often getting herself right into one.  We have cute photos of her front end protruding from one end of a  pot and her back end and tail sticking out the other end and of course she had to chew out the bottom of the pot in order to get to that point.  Note:  I watched very carefully to be sure she did not cut herself or swallow any pieces.
- By pinklilies Date 16.02.06 22:24 UTC
Zorro has a passion for coathangers which he adores chewing. He even tries to raid the wardrobe for them   He has a favourite yellow fluffy bear that he takes to bed with him..and he wont sleep without it   Delilah likes all things squeaky!
- By TansysMum [gb] Date 17.02.06 19:01 UTC
Tansy's current favourite toy is a wiggly giggly dumbell. She also loves a teddy she has wearing a plastic flying jacket, and she has two arms with hands on the end (remnants from another toy) One squeaks and one rattles, but nothing beats her dad's slippers
