hi there
its nothing serious but wondering if someone could help, me and my partner have a 7 month old pup, cocker spaniel. she is very much my dog in the way she acts, but i have done all the feeds play training etc, my partner works long hours.  since we have got her she loves to play with him but tends to get carried away, rolling on her back and playing with him, but this often leads to her digging his body, ie hands, arms body but also she mouths him, she doesn't hurt him but i feel she is getting too old for this behaviour.. we have tryed to stop this by (if it gets out of hand) putting her in her crate (she has been crate trained since 7 weeks)for 5 mins to chill out, if i intervein then things calm down but feel he has to be able to control her if i am not there!
any help would be great

never use a crate as punnishment.  I tend to put my pup in the kitchen with a babygate closed.  that way she is removed and has time out on her own.  you dont want her to associate her sleeping area with bad things.  if our pup mouthed we used to push her away (gently) and say ahahaha loudly, this has worked for us and very rarely does she mouth now, if she does it is very gentle

You need to train both of them ;)

You have to stop the play before it gets to that stage where she needs confining - maybe limit the play to a few minutes at a time
