Hi, I said I would post how I got on with using Petal Cleanse which is a product to help us humans cope with any allergies to dogs and cats that Lynn/weims mentioned last week. sorry to waffle but here goes......

after being with a dog for a day or so (not immediately) I usually start to sneeze, have itchy eyes, rundy nose (blerk) ,etc. Funnily enough my asthma doesn't seem to be affected much. So far, after 5 days of using it, it seems to have helped alot. I'm sneezing once in a while, usually in the evening, my nose is clear but one of my eyes got really itchy after rubbing it - I did this before I remembered to wash m'hands :-(

The instructions are easy to follow, it does say upto 3 weeks use before possible symptom free so I'll keep with it. I'm keeping the two poodles down stairs at night so my bedroom is allergen free and since it's supposed to be summer, they've been outside as much as poss and the windows inside have been open during the day.

hope the above helps anyone. Let me know if more details wanted.

Tiffen...I'm not allergic to animals...yet, but I am interested in your situation & if this stuff works, for future or possible acquaintances that I run across someday .... so, feel free to keep posting -- I'll pretty much read anything & memorize it :D

Hi Tiffin,

I'm chronically allergic to cats and usually end up in hospital when I come into contact with them but I've found Benadryl helps. It's the only over the counter drug that does any good but since using it I've not been anywhere near as bad. It stops the sneezing, asthma attacks and the itching skin and eyes. My eyes still swell up and itch if I rub them but it's a vast improvement on how I used to be.

Tiffin, I really appreciate your info, is it ok to send your reply to my friend who has the allergy? I have rung the bio-life people today as we have a badly allergic dog and we were wondering if it would work on the dog but sadly they said no!!

I am soooo glad its working for you, let me know how you get I am very interested. How often do you use the product on the animal? and is it a lotion, cream, or what? how is it applied?

Sorry for all the questions!

Hi, sorry for not getting back, had problems with my laptop and have had to change to a new machine.

I'm going to bath the dogs this afternoon (my allergy is slightly worse than a few days ago) mostly sneezing and itchy eyes yesterday, and then really soak them in the petal cleanse which I think - I know - I didn't do before . Reading the instructions it says to soak a cloth, rub for and against coat and then towel dry and apply every 7 days - suggests you really need to put alot on and suggests a bottle will only last approx 3 applications per one small to meduim dog. Also, they've been out in the rain a couple of times now and it's possible this is washing the stuff off.

it's a clear thin liquiid, no real smell at all and goes on very easily, except when the dogs try to grab and eat the cloth! it's also not oily at all so doesn't mark furniture etc. I confess I prefer to use this than swallow more tablets. I think the steriods i took for years masked the allergy before, but since i managed to cut them down, that could be why I'm having problems.

The liquid is suppposed to be natural based i.e. extracts of rosemary and limeflower so i don't think it affects the dogs - wouldn't have used if I thought otherwise I must say. I'll post again in a few days to say if the bath/next treatment helped. Lynn please pass the info to anyone if you think it'll help.
