Need help...new situation for me.I have 3 entire males and 2 bitches..one speyed one not.The other bitch was due to be speyed last week but came into season early.(she is now on day 18):rolleyes:
Now 2 of my males are fine...no problem.The 3rd is a total pain in the posterior.He whines and barks 24/7,is trying to mount anything that moves and is causing fights.Now I know thats all natural BUT the bitch has been placed with a freind for the last few days!
The male is keeping us up ALL night and is disturbing neighbours.I am looking into kenneling him today but am concerned that he is constantly soooo stressed.Is there anything the vet can give him to settle him down?

Wonder whether the Tardak injection might help?   I have absolutely no experience of it at all - just throwing a thought into the ring!

No other suggestions, I'm afraid - just sympathy!

I tried the jag with my dog but it didn't make a bit of difference, he was neutered before my girls next season but still acted the same, my bitch has just been in season again - this is now a year since he was neutered and he was slightly better, he still followed my girl about, howled when she was out of sight but this time he carried on eating and didn't start any fights :) I think it's just something we have to put up with if you have entire dogs and bitches.

Thanks for the suggestion Margot...the vet suggested tardak but said it would take a few days to 'kick in' so no good for this occasion.Have no intention of going through this again....Yammi will be speyed if she stays with us.

Snap Archer, poor Bryony is having exactly the same problem.  she had Quest howling last night until 2am and had to stay up with him until 3am, and that was with the bitch out of the house, but across the road in the pub she works in, he had heard her bark when taken out for a pee, and that was it.

Hope you get some tips I can pass on to her, as her baby is only 11 days in.

The boys have had a few scuffles, usually over going through doors and when she comes home, re attention, all wired up, and of course th older trying to impress on the younger that he is top male.

Poor Bryony! I do feel for her.
No hints I'm afraid....we've given up and put him in kennels...hope the kennel owners have some good ear plugs LOL

I usually take my dog to members of the family to look after him for me, and will be doing this when my bitch comes into season this time as I dont want any matings.

The bitch is not here...we sent her away(2 miles down the road) 4 days ago and he still hasn't shut up!
We went to the vets...he gave him a sedative....no effect.So now hes in kennels too(different one though)
