Does anyone know much about the Antonine dogs? In particular Columbo?
Thanks,
Kerri

Probably the best thing to do is to contact the breeder, Linda Mcgillivray. I found her phone number easily when I did a quick google.

Thanks, I'd rather not do that really, as I'm merely curious as I'm kind of down to have a pup from a litter sired by Columbo (and completely trust the dam's owner, so no worries there and I do know she will be pairing the two for good breed standards) so just wondered if anyone had seen him out and about or knows of any of his previous litters? I can't find any photos of him online.

Hi Kerri, yes I have seen him out and about :D and a very nice dog he is turning out to be.. doing very well in the ring at the moment, placed in all his champshow classes.. If memory serves me right he took 1st in Junior Dog in Lab club Scotland Ch Show early 2005 and 2nd in Grad Dog - Lab Club Scotland Ch Show Sept 2005, amongst others :D ..I have not seen any of his offspring yet, but do know of a couple of recent matings (both just pre-christmas) and am looking forward to seeing the outcome... (wonder if its the same mating you are thinking about
Sounds great - How can I pm you?
I've just cross referred your website and would love a 'chat'!

Oooh have I change my name too

;)
Sorry, Kay, don't know where I plucked Kim from . . . I think I forget that Kay is a name in its own right being a Kerri, I often sign off as K!!! I hate email sometimes - you'd never guess I have an English degree from a more than reputable university - they should have taught a course on how not to offend online!!!

So, you are an (Old) Etonian ;) don't worry about the name, no offence taken...been called most things, have a tendency to answer to all of them now :D
No - not me, I'm the wrong sex. Married to a beak; kids christened here. Pup will be an Etonian, I suppose!
Have pm'd you again.

I would still contact the sires owner. I am sure they will be most happy to talk about theri boy

I contacted the owner of my bitches sire for photos etc, and she is one of my mentors and both she and my breeder were more than happy to tell me anything I wanted then and through the years, though sadly my breeder died five years ago.
Thanks for that Brainless, I've since this post found out some fascinating facts about the pedigrees of both dam and sire, just to reaffirm my excitement!

Pedigree research can be quite fasincating, a lot like looking for yoru own family tree but usually a lot easier. You progrees back and then sideways in all directions when you find interesting littermates to dogs in your pedigree, can keep you imersed for ever :D
I know - it's such an interesting thing to see unravelling and then, as you say, to see evidently strong dogs cropping up on both sides of the lines. I;ve been given some excellent expert help in supplying the background - just hope there's a pup for us!

How exciting and so good to see somebody doing some good research

Are you after a bitch or a dog and have you had Labs before ?
Would prefer a bitch - grew up with labs as our family dogs (vaguely Sandylands 1970s stock!) - but we'll see what comes up in this litter!
