Hi posting this on behalf of a friend.

They bought a Springer Spaniel about 12 months ago (She's approx 2 now) from a dogs home.  Owner was elderly and coudn't cope apparantly.  Anyway my friend has been trying to get hold of a copy of her pedigree it was destroyed as soon as she went in the dogs home.  She has contacted KC and they say they can send a copy out if they have the Reg number. Do you know where my friend can get this from.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Only from the breeder or the previous owner if the owner kept the details of this. It does sound though as if everything was destroyed by the rescue, which is normal practice (essentially it is to prevent people getting dogs from rescue and breeding from them), and unless you know who the breeder is you will not be able to find out I'm afraid.

Hi Baileysmum
Just curious to know why they want the pedigree?

They don't want to breed from her - well they can't if they wanted to anyway.  Just want to know about the breed lines etc. I have my Goldies pedigree on the wall and my firend popped round at the weekend and it got us talking so I said I would ask you lot. She thinks that Tia was chipped at a vets in Manchester by the breeder so she might be able to trace them that way.

I will pass this information on

Thanks

If the dog was chipped as a pup by the breeder, then I'm sure that the breeder would be very pleased to know how the dog is doing now.
Good luck
