Hi I when I had my dogs eyes tested someone told me on here of a new way to test them. My vet used a method that really desrtessed my dogs. He put a suction cup on their eyes which had to be left on for a while.
He wasnt very sympathetic with my dogs at all and got very annoyed that they wouldnt stay still.
He made me feel so small and said no other dogs reacted this way.
He also said that was the only way it could be done.
I mentioned it on here and somebody said there is another way. Im in Doncaster and the vet I used was in Leeds. Could anyone tell me of any other vets that do the tests as near to South Yorks as possible.
I want to get Baileys eyes done. He is a very shy  dog and Im sure it will effect him badly.
Thankyou for any replies.

Hi S/b, they need a veterinary opthalmologist to test them for any eye diseses  What was your vet testing for & is he an opthalmologist?

There are eye testing clinics held all ov UK, one of the others will give details of them being held in your area :)

Here's another site, gives you dates and clinics: http://www.isds.org.uk/services/index.htm click on the BVA Eye Test Clinics, then it shows January 2006 or February 2006......hopefully there will be one close to you.

Hi
I'm in Doncaster too and we always do our eye testing at shows at Newark -quick and easy and much cheaper. :)

I'm not sure but I would say that your dog had the test for glaucoma as they have to do it that way for that test, but at least it's only a once in a lifetime test for that one.  My dogs have always been fine with it even the shyer ones and also don't mind the eye test for the other eye problems.

Yep glucoma and cateracts. If thats the only way I will stick with the vet I know. Looked about and others are too far away.
Thankyou
