Just wondered the views on the above foods and which is the best for price/ingredients,thanks .

The 'best' is the one that suits your dog, which may well be different from the one that suits mine :(

Personally, if I was choosing a food for my dogs, I wouldn't use any of these.

not sure about others but autarky does seem popular on here

Actually Dawn that's an interesting question at the moment.  Until now I've been feeding James Wellbeloved in the morning and Burns in the evening.  (I like to give a bit of variety and I think a mixed diet is good, so I give say JWB Duck in the AM and Burns Venison in the PM).  However, inspired by people on here, I might be revising things soon, because I'm always searching for something better....

I personally would chose Autarky over JWB and Burns, JMO though, all dogs are different :)

(I generally feed BARF but also feed Autarky at times - my boys dont really do dry food ;) )

I have tried all three, and rate Skinners ruff and ready the best for my two Labs.  It's the only dried food that they don't bolt down and then vomit.  Good value at £17.50 for
20kg, and they are lean and fit on it.

I think Autarky is good as well, but made one of mine a little loose.  Dr Johns is cheap and cheerful, but I found the dogs poo ed a lot.  The food itself was very dusty.  I think I threw quite a lot away as it was just all dust at the bottom of the bag. 

My dogs, being Labs, will eat anything but the skinners suits them and me, and at the end of the day, you just have to find something you all like! 

i feed mine on aurtarky,my eldest is a fussy eater, but he seems to enjoy his meals since i changed,also it is good valuefor money .

I feed my BCs on skinners ruff and ready too. They are both young active dogs who are thriving, their coats are lovely and shiny. There is lots of interesting "bits" for them to sort through, so they tend not to bolt down their grub, i was advised by a friend who uses it for her working dogs to give it a try. I'd definately recommend it. Good value too!

I swear blind by Skinners. I use Field and Trial Muslie which is basically a vat free Ruff & Ready, and their coats are glossy and healthy. I also use Field and Trial Maintance for a couple of my oldies. And I have to say like othres I have found the price to be very reasonable.

Skinners web site does not give full listing of ingredients (same goes to for pedigree ,baker's ect) so this cant be their main selling point, so it must be aimed at the "dog looks good on it so it must be ok" market, other than people who are interested in animal nutrition and need to know what's in it  -JO  

I was told that the ruff and ready, and field and trial museli are actually the same food, just in different packaging.  Unfortunately I can't seem to get the field and trial version at my suppliers at the moment,  perhaps they've cottoned on that it's not so good for profits!  Still, I'm more than happy to keep with the ruff and ready, very good value.

I've been told by my supplier that it's the same.
