I have a dog, next door to me...barks all the time...all night and day.
He is a nice dog,,domerman...but on his chain 24/7, owner gives no attention.

I have talked with the owner...he said he would relocate the dog to the
other side of the house.....he did NOT....
I then wrote him.....he does nothing.....I think this dog would be better
of with anyone else.....I live in Israel...any thoughts?

Are there any dog noise laws..I us to live in U.S. and you could call the police and
they would do something or the Humane Society but this country has nothing.
Help....

If you are in the UK, then you should contact your local councils Environmental health dept,  They should have a designated 'dog warden' who can help to deal with the matter.

Unfortunately, as this is predominantly a UK-based site, we have no knowledge of rules & regulations in Israel - but I would suggest a telephone call to your local town hall/municipal authorities to find out what is the legal position

Good luck

The dog is bored and lonely so of course he barks.  chainign a dog up is not the best way of canine management :(  considered outmoded and barbaric by most people, other than occasional tehering whils away from home.

Unfortunately it is the norm in many countries - a dog is a 'guard-dog' and definitely not a pet :( Friends abroad have told me that a lot of country folk think that keeping dogs indoors as pets is very strange.

Yes I know.  In poland this is still very much the norm with any medium to large dog in the country, small dogs are kept as pets, but allowed to wander freely :(

In towns most dogs are kept in apartments, many are latchkey.

More educated people (about dogs) campaign for dog runs as opposed to chains for Watch dogs.

Hi there,

My dogs have a habit of waking me up in the early hours, firstly a bark and then they all start singing!
at this point I get up, nearly falling down the stairs, to shout at them to shut up.
This has been going on for nearly 3 weeks which tires me and disturbes my sleep. Any way, I have a baby alarm which I use at night when I have puppies, so that I can hear if any of them are distressed or any problems,  I was just going to pack it away ready for when I breed again and thought why not reverse the system so that they can hear me, therefore when they go into full voice at 2 - 3 am in the morning I just turn over and speak into the monitor 'get back into your beds', so far it has been 100% successful.

The situation is very sad and i feel very sorry for the dog. If there is no animal society in Israel I am not sure what you can do - I loathe this kind of situation as the dog is basically a prisoner for all of its life :(
