I bought a bunch of Lillies a couple of days ago (from a supermarket), Ive always been a White Lilly gal, and stear clear of the pink ones....Now that this bunch have opened out they are neither white nor pink....But a lovely pale buttermilk with green tinges.
    I'd like to get this variety again makes a nice change from the white in the house.sooooo.. does anyone know what kind they are so I can go to my florist this time and ask for them!

I am sure i read somewhere that they were highly poisonous, mainly to cats but thought dogs too? I am a white lilly gal too and love them but since i read about them being poisonous have not dared have any in my house.

With cats many people didnt know this...I have noticed that some supermarket brands now do put a warning on the label.

lol, hope have not turned your question into a cat topic! good that supermarkets are now warning people though, i have 3 cats and so dare not risk it, though its my mal who likes to sniff the flowers!

The flowers inside make up for what I now lack outside!! :D

I think it's the pollen that's lethal to cats, isn't it? If they lick it off their fur after brushing past the flowers they're likely to be very ill indeed. I think if you snip off the anthers (pollen-bearing structures) they're much less hazardous.

Also stops those yellow stains when the pollen falls on tablecloths,clothes,carpet etc..when your emptying them/throwing them away.
