Did anyone see this last night? Poor Frodo! I was so pleased for him when the nurses put him in the pool and he started doing the doggy paddle which proved he could move his legs and was not permanently paralyzed from his broken neck. The nurses were so dedicated and caring. Every dog they have featured on this programme has been a springer spaniel! Next weeks episode has one too!

I did and cried on and off all the way through!  I did comment at one point that if Frodo was mine, I'm  not sure I could put him through what he went through but was so pleased when he proved me wrong when they put him in the pool.  I'm not sure how the owners can hold it together when they go and visit.  I was really pleased for Magnum too.  I've never seen a horse operated on before and it was certainly educational.  I would've thought hoisting him up by his feet wouldn't have done his broken elbow much good! 

From the xray I don't think the break was in a load bearing area, so it wouldn't have been affected by the hoisting.  I was so worried when he go himself cast and they had to go and look at him that he'd done himself some awful damage, he was such a lovely horse with such a kind eye.........

I missed the end of it, was the horse ok in the end?

I watched it and I thought the broken leg was not pulled like the other legs but was in a position similar to the other legs so that the broken leg was supported rather than just flopping loosely about, which would have caused more damage to the broken leg.
Anyway on 7th February I shall ask one of the Super Vets about this and let you all know.

Yes, both Frodo and Magnum survived! Fodo still has to take things carefully as his neck bones had not fused completely and Magnum was ok despite his fall.

I love this programme.  I just wish there were more places around the country which offer this kind of care.  Maybe if there were I wouldn't be sat here now greiving the loss of my much loved dog.

This is a really good programme - what a little star Frodo is :)  I was so pleased that it all worked out well for him, you could almost see his appreciation oozing out from those wonderful big brown eyes.

I loved it - agree that I would have been having serious doubts when they brought Frodo out on the rug and he wouldn't respond to his owners. But I was in tears when they put him in the pool and he moved his legs, and then again when they brought him back for the final x-ray. Shame he has to stay on the lead, but he can still have a good life like that.

I'm terrified that they had no idea how he did the injury in the first place though!!
