You could alos try argos, the lindam gate comes in two heights  one you will find in the baby section, the other in the pet section. :)

i have looked at argos and the dog and baby gates are either too wide or need screwing into the door frame.

Make sure you look carefully- I have a baby gate up for mine and that came with 4 fixings to screw a bracket onto the wall- then you put your gate up pressure mounted onto that.  I didn't get mine screwed on- just put it up pressure mounted.  It is solid and secure enough :-)

This is the right size and just has fixings which you screw to the wall and then place the gate on.

Also comes from a very reputable seller which I can thoroughly recommend :D :D ( My OH ;) )

I use baby cot sides ,you just cut to size and screw hinges to door frame.

I can assure you they don't need screwing to the frame as we have metal door frames ;) they are just pressure mounted, though you can screw them if you want but its not neccessary honest, and they keep two leonbergers at bay :) I also have the smaller one at the bottom of the stairs and that is also pressure mounted.

there are quite a few in the argos which one would you recomend is the best that does not need fixings.

Lindam easyfit plus, pressure fit. just type in safety gates on the argos homepage ;)

Edited to add. there is also the pet safety gate which is taller but more expensive, just look under pet care

Snap Missie :-) Sounds like you've got the same one as me.  Could I also add- I have GSD's and the smaller baby gate keeps them in perfectly fine.

i have looked at that gate and it is too wide, my door frame is 73cm but with everyone saying that babygates work i have looked on the mothercare site and have found one that fits and it is pressure mounted for £25 so thanks for the advice everyone.

I bought a baby gate from Mothercare (www.mothercare.co.uk) for 30 quid. Easy to fix and no need to drill the wall.

hope this helps

Best,

Alex
