also i saw an add for a pug hybrid! it was a pug x terrier. a hybrid i thought were 2 species bred together ie lion x tiger = tigon. and it was nearly £600!!
my mind is boggling!
just wanted to rant (again)

another rant im afraid! just seen a chi x something else for £750!  they even had the cheek to say they had thought of saying it was a pure bred chi and charging the full £1500 but that would have been unfair!
this has to be the highest price i have seen for a mongrel puppy so far. any advance on this??

You are correct. A hybrid is a cross breed of 2 species, not 2 breeds of the same species.

hi, with regards to your post about the westie, the other night i was looking on the internet at some rescue sites, and the amount of bitches that were on there to be rehomed because they are " no longer needed as a breeding bitch" was heart breaking, and they all seemed to be westies, my OH was sick of hearing about it in the end, i was so angry/shocked/sad, some people don't deserve to be blessed with the gift of owning a dog, at the end of the day we choose to have then they dont choose to have us.

I am haveing a rant myself tonight.

I have a waiting list for my pups hopefully due in MArch. I emailed the people today with a update, one of them has got back to me and asked to be taken of the list as his wife would like a jackadoodle instead.In my eyes that is a poodle jack russell cross. It really annoys me why people do these crosses and give them a fancy name and a fancy price. They were in the paper the other day. yes sweet looking pups but all pups are but at the end of the day they are crosses.

Ok rant over. I am glad they are no longer wanting one of my babies they dont deserve it lol

Wendy, I can almost guarantee that these same people will phone you up in 6 months time and say "We were going to get a pup off you, but we got a Jackadoodle instead and there's something wrong with it (bit the kids, not housebroken, cost a fortune at the vets due to being constantly ill - take your pick)" They'll then want your advice on what to do about it.

Maybe I should tell them now if they go to any rescue kennels they will find a cute terrier cross at the fraction of the price.

I remember a person I know who has a pedigree poodle dog wanting to use it on my bitch. I thought she was joking to especially when she said she wouldnt charge me full stud fee. She thought the babies would be lovely and you could sell them for the same as a poodle because her dog was a full pedigree. I was distgusted with her and said no way was I producing mongrels, How slow am I lol

OMG I can't believe that!  The poor Chi bitch.  As you say there's very little chance that this dog would whelp naturally so will need a c-section  I bet that she has no problems and has a big litter, sods law really.

There are sooooooooooo many mutts in rescues needing homes so why do these people add to that problem.I am the proud owner of two dogs,one pedigree and one a cross breed mutt.I like to do my bit and try to help by rehoming the needy. :) I think i will call her a German border :) Its just ludicrous how they get away with it AND charge the prices they do.A rescue would charge around 100 quid for a rehoming fee and the  dogs are usually vaccinated,spayed,and health checked,many are chipped too.So go save your money and get a rescue dog if you want a cross breed.There are many of them needing good homes and the donation payed will go towards feeding and vets bills at the rescue center.These kind of breeders make me mad
