Topic Dog Boards / Health / fussy eater with EPI

Hi I have a 3 1/2 year old male GSD with EPI who in the last 7 month has done extremely well in gaining 11 Kg going from 26Kg to 37Kg.My problem now is he is becoming a really fussy eater and wont touch the Hills prescription i/d food that he is being fed and has eaten perfectly well for the last 7 month unless i mix some cooked chicken with it,even then he will leave it untill i add some more chicken untill he has eaten it,but he is starting to get soft motions again so I am worried that we are going to get back to where we started unless I am carefull. He also has 1 LYPEX capusle with each meal to enable him to digest the food.Any ideas thanks

Try a small amount of Chappie, mix the powder into that, and then mix in the dry food, so it is coated with the Chappie.

If the dog's motions are still soft, just add another dose of powder.  Are you feeding twice a day?  And what is the weight your dog should be normally?

If that doesn't seem to work, I would try slowly changing over to another dry food.  I have used Burns fish and brown rice but now use Vitalin salmon and potato but still add some "wet" food to mix the powder into.
