I should not be looking yet for a companion for my Dobe girl, but I saw a 2 yr old Dobe boy with a kind face on epupz, I was intrested and sent a mail of enquiry. What breeding, why re-home etc, I aked in my mail. Some days later a mail arrived and the owner said,
"We no longer need to re-home him as the job fell through and we won't be moving house now. Oh his breeding,.... well his father was champion best of breed at Crufts!!. If you want to use him, you can have him as a stud for your bitch, just let me know."
I could not grasp it at all. One week he's re-homing and the next he wants to breed more of them just because of the money to be made. I told him in uncertain terms that the reason I'd aked about the breeding line was that I could tell a lot by it, temperment, any possible health problems etc, that I had no intention of breeing and have never have in all my years! And  didn't he think there were enough good Dobes out there already in rescue without breeding more of them? His possible re-home last week, just went to prove so? I have asked this gentleman to consider what I have said before offering his dog as stud again so casually and definatly not via a 20 word E-mail of enquiry.
