Hi

I feed my dogs raw meat and bones. I a have mated the jack russel and hopefully she is 2 weeks pregnant.

What should I be feeding her and what should i avoide while she is pregnant. I have stopped giving her liver.

Does she need any suppliments at all?

Thanks in advance

Wendy

Billinghurst recommends increasing the proportion for offal (except liver) / muscle meat / eggs when the total amount needs to be upped. I never stopped giving liver you just need to be careful not to overdo it but a bit is fine. NO calcium supplement whatsoever, even in natural form (eggshells etc). After whelping it's the opposite : more raw meaty bones, less offal/ vegetables, plus the daily breakfast "eggnog" = an egg with shell mixed with yogurt + a tiny bit of cod liver oil + water (or goat milk but I couldn't find it).
