Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / End of season ?

Hi all,

Our 9 month old BC is just about to finish her first season - aprox' 16 days through it at the moment - any swelling has gone also spotting - how will we know when she's finished & 'safe'.

Also, twice recently in her bed she's wet herself - never known before, even when she was a 'baby' - is this a side effect of being in season, or a dirty protest ?

Thanks.

The hormones to tend to make them less able to hold their water and have foudn accidents from tiume to time when a bitch is in season.

As for the season ending now is probably kust about the most dangerous time.  A bitch will normally be ready for mating when th4e sweeling goes down a bit and the area softens.

You should keep her away from other dogs for at leas the next week but preferably until around 4 weeks from the start of the season to be sure.
