How long should a dog be vomitting before they need to see a vet? Ellie refused her supper last night and shortly after that she threw up what looked like her breakfast. She was very depressed and slept most of the time, although woke me up at 11pm to ask to go out and threw up again. THis morning she looked better and i(stupidly) gave her a tiny bit of chappie, which returned around 12 when i got back from walking the other dogs. SHes just been sick again. She doesn't seem to have diarrahoea which i find strage if its a gastro bug. Normally i would take her to the vets, but being a sunday i don't want to call them out for just anything. I'm not worried about the cost (shes insured and as i work there i don't have to pay a callout fee), but i don't want to have to call out the vet unnessasarily and look like a hypercondriac!

I would take her to the vet asap maybe somthing or nothing, my friends dog had these symtoms a couple of weeks ago  and the dog a ten month old bernese moutain dog had swallowed a sock, she had surgery £700 was the final bill .more impotant is the dog is ok. I am not saying that it is a blockage ,it could be somthig like a tummy upset, hope all goes well.
