can dogs still get things like parvo and distemper even if vaccinated??
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 13.01.06 23:34 UTC
Yes, just as people can get flu even after they've been vaccinated against it. The advantage is that they will usually be a lot less ill than they would have been otherwise.

Yes they can W/M & that goes for any disease the vaccine contains. The disease can then also be worse than if they had caught it naturally.

Heres a link about vaccines that also has a lot of other links you might find interesting :)

In my opinion, only an opinion, stopping vaccination altogether is not going to improve the health of the canine population.  Giving the first set of inoculations without follow up boosters seems to be the way to go, given the majority of evidence presented in medical reports.

A lot of the sites advocating the abolition of vaccines are themselves linked to homeopathic companies who promote natural products, many of which are not properly tested.

Yes vaccines can, in cases where the immune system is already weak, give the very illness they are designed to prevent.  Case in point, my brother and I were vaccinated against polio and we developed polio were paralysed and faced an uncertain future.  Other kids who were not immunized got it and suffered too or died.  We recovered almost fully.  If we stop giving vaccines we risk a return to the days when measles was a killer, certainly in the human population, and I am old enough to remember distemper.

We are caught between a rock and a hard place do we let the strongest take their chances while the weakest are weeded out.  This is natures way and the debate goes on.

Can`t say I`ve seen that Echo, which ones are linked to companies?

I have looked at lots just as I have looked at lots of sites advocating vaccines that are linked to drug companies.  You have to know how to extract the information from the coding on the site itself and some are just blatant giving a link to a site advertising products.

It is very unwise to site any one site as there could be a legal proceedings because of it but if you google a few of them I think you will see what I mean.

In the few minutes since I posted I have found 4 sites with multiple links for and against and one which goes both ways with links to drugs companies and homeopathy.  A mixture of both may not be a bad thing.

In the long run you have to go with what you have got and all I have done is give you the details as I see them the rest is up to the individual..

Have you found any in the links I`ve posted? Because I do try not to put sites that are purely advertising their products when talking about this sort of thing, sometimes there may be adverts on the side. Google is of course sponsored by adverts so theres loads of them when you do a search :)

I`m not sure what legal proceedings you`re talking about, if a sites on the web & its advertising its stuff why can`t it be mentioned:confused:

I am a registered business and I do know the law.  In view of this I cannot comment on any one site as mentioned in previous posts.

I will say that from my own perspective I found your site very informative and linked to a lot of very good information.
