how do you tell the diffrence between the early signs of aggresion and just rigiourous puppy playing.

recently while taking my 2 young bitches out to th field they start to get really boistrous, they are nto liek it with other dogs, and if anything they tend to stick together.

the behaviour pattern is as follows. they will sepaerate and pue the eldest bitch will lie down and the other bitch lupin will run a distance away from pue. then she will turn round and creep back towards pue and suddenly pue will jump up and give chase. they then tumble around, growl with each other then start it all over again, they seem to take it in turns to chase each other.

another game they play is trying to steal the toy off each other and it becomes liek a game aof relay where one will get the toy and run the other will give chase, the toy is dropped then the other dog will pick it up and get chased. all the time they are liek jack in the boxes pouncing up and down on there back legs and they nibble each others legs and fence with there mouths.

when i call them they stop and coem runnign over to me and sometimes will go back to playing or somethimes just explore.

does this sound at all aggresive to you?

The taking turns is a very good sign that one is not bullying the other, but are playing nicely.

Definitely fun,  my 2 stalk each other, chase, switch roles and then they'll be up on their hind legs mock biting each other and growling and then they are off again.  One chasing the other.  Mad.... lol. :-D

sounds like play to me ...sometime when it gets a bit too much I just make a noise and take thier attention for a few mins just to calm it down a bit .

i have heard a lot of mention about aggresion between bitches.

i was just wondering at what age it ussualy begins, if of course it begins at all.
does it ussualy happen around sexual maturity?

does anyone here keep same age bitches together with out problem?

obviously im having no problems at the moment, i just want to watch for signs and know what to look for.

With some it will be at sexual maturity, but with others not until social maturity.  The first is at 6 to 18 months the latter often not until 2 to 5 years.

They do sound like their playing.  It was shocking that other post, where two dogs attacked the other.
