I sympathised so much with those people who lost their dogs. When I got Cinders as a puppy I was always so paranoid when walking her when she was small enough for people to grab her and run off. It was in the papers, & the vet & trainer had all told us how dognapping had increased dramatically in South London. When anyone came to ask me how old she was or anything else, I found myself making up lies. As they say, the thief sees you, asks you all the relevant questions, then lines up a buyer based on what you've told them, so I was making her older than she really is etc...
So glad that lady got her Ike back though, it made me cry with happiness for her.

I missed it but OH watched it and was shocked

Imagine how awful it must be to have your dog stolen and never know whats become of it - whether its been sold on/used for breeding etc? I've heard of some dogs being sold on in pubs etc but what sort of people buy them?? Makes you shudder to think of the homes they end up in.

Just yesterday my boss was telling me about when this happened to her - years ago, she was walking a GSD off-lead on a pavement, with the dog ahead of her, the dog went round the corner and she never saw it again. My stepsister had the same thing happen to her last year - she had a 4 month old Basset stolen from her back garden, and she never found him. I don't want to think about how bad it would be - I lost Opi for only half an hour a couple months back and I was hysterical. It's very depressing - it almost makes me want to walk my dogs on-lead for the rest of their lives - and any other dogs I have - but that isn't fair on them. If only we could get a hold of the people who do the dirty deed and teach them a lesson or two.

There are a group of dog owners who have had their dogs stolen or have friends whose dogs have been stolen. They are trying to set up a fund to held by the Dog Theft Action Group, to be paid out on the arrest and conviction of a dog thief. They are hoping people will put £5-00 in and that if enough of us do it it will amount to a huge amount quickly.
If there is enough money in it some body is going to start talking!
I watched it and was appalled

. The couple with the dogue de bordeaux puppies stolen was so sad. All the stories were so sad, I was crying too with relief for the lady who got Ike back. It made me so worried about Jazz that he is booked in to be microchipped next week.
I cried when that lady from Blackpool got Ike back :-D He licked her so much, and was so happy to see her :-)
I also really feel for Justine, Alfie has been missing for over 18 months now.....it makes me so sad :-( I just wish i could find him for her.

i cried too when she got her dog back. i did wonder about the other dog and how it was taken. she said the couple walked past her, she looked down for the dog and realised they must have picked it up. what i was wondering is why she didnt say 'excuse me, have you seen my dog?' unless she didnt realise he was gone till much later. it seems odd they took him and walked right passed her! i didnt understand that bit.
i often see little yorkies with their owners but how could you say to them 'are you sure that isnt that stolen dog?' you'd get lynched!! i wonder if he will be found now following the tv prog- i hope so.
