Morning all !!

My 9m girl has just come into season but the problem is we are going to my dads next week & I dont think he will like the blood everywhere

I cant go another time as it is the manchester show that weekend.

I have heard there is a jab to stop the season but what are the side effects?

Thanx

Don't do it.

I am sure you can take a crate with you and keep her in it when unatteneded, and lay an old sheet down at your dads when she is out of it.  After the first week she shuld be cleaning herself efficiciently, and may only be bleeding very little.

Giving hormone jabs will just muck up her seasons, and could ultimately affect ther future fertility and reproductive health.

Hi Tennostaffs
Don't do it!!!
I used the jab once when my bitch came in season when my mother was ill.  She ended up with pyometra - a common occurence according to my vet, at least he warned me.
You can get knickers for bitches.  They might help?

To help with the blood, you can get pet bitch knickers. I found it cheaper and easier to buy childrens pants. cut a hole out for the tail and then your fine. I wouldn't cover up all the time though as the bitch needs to learn and get in the habit of cleaning herself. Lot's of old sheets to cover carpet, sofa or in her cage.

Thanx!

Not worried about my floor (its laminate) or chairs (leather) but my dads!

She will have to stay in the kitchen or crate.

What about the show?  It would not be fair to take her & as we are going to be gone overnight I could not leave her at home.

Is it ok to put her in kennels?  Or would it send all the entire dogs there loopey !!!

i would not use the injection to stop seasons it made my dobermann bitch infertile
it was a long time ago she was about 2 years and my dad got her the injection  to stop her coming into season , she never came into season again
