ive just started usinging a dogmatic on my staffie bitch. she is dragging her chin along as we walkand very unhappy, gave her 20 minutes then back to collar . im giving her lots of encouragement and rewards to help, we do lots of heel work and play with and without dogmatic she is not a happy girl but her heal work on collar is improving, any one any ideas on time scale getting used to this.

Hi,

I use I Dogmatic on my girl in certain situations - and find it fantastic, the only headcollar that didn't ride into her eyes.  Most dogs don't like headcollars to start with.  Don't try taking her for a walk in it again until you have got her accustomed to the headcollar.  Try making the headcollar fun by playing silly games with it.  Put it on give her a treat and take it straight off again do this quite a few times then put it on when she is eating her meals - put it on and have a play with her fav toy, she'll get used to it gradually and will then associate it with good things.

Hope that helps.

Karen
