Tablets which you can take with alchohol that can calm you down?

I have a huge awards ceramony on sunday where there will be plenty of alchohol and I am so stressed out about it already.  When ever I think about it I start panicing and get my self into a state.  I feel sick and shake and feel that on the night I am not going to be able to enjoy the night or even go on the stage if needed to pick up an award as i am so panicy over it.  I know I should look on the positve side ect but I am in a right state already and its still a week to go.

I'm afraid I would NEVER advocate mixing CHILL or any other kind of pills with ALCOHOL!!! Believe me it's far too  dangerous and I have dealt with many of the unlucky people that did it, in A&E!!!  The problem is that people are so chilled or out of it, they forget WHAT they've taken, how long ago, how many etc and when alcohol comes into the picture, well anything can happen...PLEASE DON'T DO IT!!!:eek::eek:

All the best, Dawn X

Ok thanks for that dawn and I take your advice 100% - thanks

I would rather take something to stop be feel so nervious (shaking now and feeling sick while typing this) rather than drink so if anyone can recommend anything then that would eb great

Cheers Dawn

Ohh I know Hun, just please, please be careful! I've even had people in that have mixed 'natural' or homeopathic stuff and ended up being psychotic...it really is serious stuff, I hope someone can reccomend something?? How about 'Kalms'?? But just them on their own huh?? LOL :D :D :D  (don't know how they are spelt??)

How great to win an award!  If you do, stand up take nice deep breaths and take your time.  Enjoy the moment, make it your own.  when faced with nervous situations I think you're supposed to imagine the people naked.  Personally that would give me a fit of giggles :D

I wish you well.  Good luck ;)

Kalms are available at the supermarkets if that helps :)

It is a shame that anxiety and stress look like spoiling your enjoyment of the day....This sounds like more than normal nerves. Is there anything in particular that is worrying you? Do you have to make any speeches? Or do you generally get anxious in these kinds of events?
You are right to avoid alcohol at all costs..it usually makes things worse.
Any drugs bought over the counter are unlikely to be effective. I would recommend that you talk to your doctor about if you would benefit from anything to calm you down. Even if the doctor is not happy to give you any drugs, I think it would benefit you to discuss this with your doctor anyway......maybe they could offer you some counselling to help you manage stress more easily..not much help for Sunday I know, but may help in future situations.

I've found Kalms to be a good gentle calmer, without making you drowsy. But the main thing is to avoid the alcohol - at least until after you've done your bit! Tonic water, fruit juice or other soft drinks are much more likely to keep you sensible! :) Good luck!

Bach Rescue remedy contains alcohol so would be ok to mix?
